Before listing some predicted/likely devices, it’s useful to understand where the “under ₹15K” budget phone segment is heading by 2026:
- More 5G Everywhere
- 5G will become even more widespread in budget phones. Many of the ₹15,000-or-less phones already carry 5G chipsets.
- Chipset makers like MediaTek (Dimensity series) will keep pushing lower-cost 5G chips.
-
Bigger Batteries + Fast Charging
- Phones will continue to offer 5,000mAh+ batteries, but fast-charging speeds will improve even in this low-cost bracket.
- Manufacturers may optimize power efficiency better, giving more “real-world” battery life.
- Improved Displays
- Budget phones will likely get higher refresh rate displays (90 Hz, maybe even more) more often.
- Better build quality, maybe slightly better screen tech (improved IPS / LCD panels).
- Software & Features
- More “lite” versions of feature-rich OS: Android versions optimized for budget hardware, or “Go”-editions will be less common.
- AI/ML features (camera processing, voice) may trickle down as hardware improves.
- Camera Quality
- Expect better camera sensors, maybe 50MP / 64MP primary sensors even in lower-cost models.
- Low-light photography might improve, though “flagship-level” camera won’t likely come under ₹15K.
-
Build & Durability
- Budget phones might become more robust (better frames, better plastic / hybrid materials).
- Water/dust resistance still may be limited, but some entry-level IP ratings could appear.
